Hi, I'm SK. I'm a Japanese man living in Tokyo, and this is my guide to the old east side of the city — Asakusa first, then Ueno, the Skytree side, Kuramae and beyond.

Every spot marked "visited" is somewhere I have been myself, and every photo on this site is mine unless a caption says otherwise.

How I write

English is not my first language. I tell the story in Japanese — often by answering interview questions about each place — and AI tools help me research, draft and polish the English. I review every guide before it goes live, and I label guides to places I haven't visited yet as research guides.
